Thank Ewe Card

A dear friend did me a big favor last week, God bless her.  I realized that I needed a special thank you card for her.  Well, I saw a cute little sheep on the Under a cherry tree blog.  She used a Lettering Delights graphic, but I have been having so much fun making my own graphics in Make the Cut that I took the plunge and using just Basic Shapes I made my own version!  I adore Make the Cut, I truly do.  I never thought of myself as terribly creative before I found MTC.  Thank you Andy!

I used a cuttlebug to emboss the card front as well as the ewe body and the thank ewe sentiment.  I inked the edges of the sentiment shadow and then outlined the sentiment with a metallic gel pen.  Love gel pens!  I also outlined the ewe with a metallic gel pen and used stickles on the ewe body embossing to give it just that little bit extra to make her super special.  I hope my friend feels the love!

Big Cube Box

I have finally finished and cut one of the larger boxes to my satisfaction, so here it is....drum roll please....the Cube!!!

This box can be sized down by making sure all of the layers are visible and selecting all before resizing.  All proportions are maintained if you have all of the layers selected.

Family Collage

A request was made on the Make the Cut forum for a family collage for a tile.  I've been wanting one for myself as well, so I took this as the impetus to "just do it".

Large Gift Bag with 2 Topper Options

I was inspired to design this bag by this thread on the Make the Cut forum.  This cute gift bag has two topper options and a ribbon closure.

Please post pictures if you make this, I'd love to see!  Also, please leave comments if you like it.  Thanks.

Cute rocket card for a birthday

This cute little rocket is perfect for a boy birthday card and I just happened to have a party for a friend's son as an excuse to make it.  I used a picture of the boy instead of the window and it turned out way too cute.  Unfortunately, I was pressed for time so I didn't get a chance to take a picture before I ran out the door.  I'm well known  for being time challenged!  Nothing like a last minute project to get the juices flowing, let me tell you!

Free Baby Carriage File

This sweet little baby carriage and medallion is in response to a request on the Make the Cut forum for baby shower theme ideas.

Files I create are shared for your personal use only.  Please direct interested parties here to get the file.  Thank you.

It's not MY fault!

I blame growliesgirl of the Make the Cut forum!  If she hadn't posted her file and a picture on her blog, I might have a clean house now.  So much for housework today!

After the cute little purse I made last night, I just had to make a pink one for my precious daughter.  She loves pink, so it's very pink!  I used metallic silver and rhinestones for accents as my favorite handbags have "jewelry" details.  I used eyelets instead of brads to attach the handle to give it more of a "jewelry" hardware look.  I want a life size one made of fabric now!  Holy cow, how addictive.  I may have to see about printing the pattern and cutting from fabric, pretty much the same only Larger!  LOL

Now that I have THAT out of my system (sshhhh...I can try to fool myself into believing it!) I can get to the dreaded and ever present housework.  Arrrghhh!

Happy scrappin' y'all!
Hi there fellow scrappers!  Happy Friday!

An absolutely adorable 3D Purse file was posted by a fellow Make The Cut user on her blog.  If you want the file, just pop by her blog.  I just had to cut it right away! Neither my picture or my finished project is as good as the one on the Cre8ive Cuts blog,  but I just had to share.

After some frustration at not being able to cut to my Gazelle straight from MTC, I was able to transfer the file to FunTime and cut from there.  Thank God for Julie's excellent tutorial on the Make the Cut yahoo group

I also made a card for a dear friend who lives faaaaaaaar away, and I think it's kinda cute.  Can you tell I went a little nuts with the glitter glue??  The inset is plain white cardstock embossed with a hearts folder.  I created the Love You Lots word art in Make the Cut and then transferred to Funtime to cut on my Gazelle.  I'm gonna have to figure out what I'm doing wrong trying to cut from Make the Cut!  I can't stand it!!!!  I haven't spent much time learning FunTime, so the cut files for the words and shadow are in different files.  *sigh*  I will learn FunTime too.  Yikes, so much to do and so little time.  Meanwhile, the dishes pile up in the sink, the dirty laundry in the basket, piles of stuff everywhere waiting to be put away....I  think you get the picture!

I've got to get to the housework now, so I hope y'all have a great weekend.

Cute Jean Pocket

A request was posted on the Make the Cut forum for a jeans pocket.  Here's my solution in two layers. I made a true pocket using 2 of the back layer adhered around the sides and bottom edges before adhering the top layer.  A tag or card can slide into this cute little pocket.

Cute ball cap card

Our friend's son, Nathan, had his 14th birthday Sunday.  He is completely into baseball, so this cute ball cap card was just the thing.  I designed it in Make the Cut! using Nathan's hat as inspiration and then cut it on my brand new Gazelle.  I just wish I'd taken a photo of it before I gave it to him!  He really liked it and told me he was taking it to ball practice to show his team mates.  How cool is that!

I printed the ball out using Make the Cut's print preview function and printed on my inkjet.  I then used the base layer of the ball and the hinge method to cut the ball (I haven't taken the time to learn the Gazelle's print and cut function) and ran it through the xyron to make a sticker to seal the envelope.

The letters on the cap can be removed and replaced with whatever strikes your fancy, as well as changing the colors of the whole shebang.  I used a glitter pen to outline the letter shadow and color in the letters for a little oomph.  I also ran around the edges of the black parts with a sharpie for an interesting effect.  It's so hard to just finish and quit tinkering!

I had a blast designing this card and it went together super fast.  The best part wasn't the making of it this time, but the reaction from the recipient.  That made my day!

Anchor and Rope file for Theresa!

There was a request over at the Make the Cut! forum for a cut file of an anchor with a rope entwined around it.  I hope this "makes the cut" (pun most definitely intended)!

Hi y'all!  I did something today that I didn't ever think I would.  I made a card without my Cricut.  Heavenly days folks, I went old school scrapping!  It was more fun that I thought it would be.  The down side of this is that I am now amassing such an amazing amount of paper crafting tools and paper that there won't be any room for US soon!

I used a Tim Holtz Sizzix die for the flower on paper I printed from a document in Word.  The edges of the flower are inked with red dye ink and a rhinestone is glued to the brad.  I used punches for the corners and a cuttlebug and embossing folder for the mat.  After embossing the plain black card stock, I sanded some of the raised bits and colored some of them with a silver metallic sharpie.  The words are cut from plain red card stock using a cuttlebug die and then glammed up with a glitter gel pen from Amy Chomas.

My auntie and cousin came to visit last week and gave my daughter a Smithsonian Rock and Gem Dig kit.  That kid had so much fun hammering and chiseling at the rock to get the gems out!  I'm glad my hubby insisted she do it outside since she made a HUGE mess.  The thank you card is for this gift.

I need to unpack my Gazelle and learn the Funtime software that comes with it.  I know I can cut to the Gazelle from Make The Cut, but I still wanna learn all of cool things I can do in Funtime.  I don't know when I'm going to get to it though, as we have a lot going on around here right now.  Hopefully I can get to it soon and let y'all know how I make out.

Happy crafting y'all!

I finally got around to playing with embossing powder last night.  What fun!  I can see how much of a mess could be made, though.  I don't know where hubby's heat gun is so I made due with a toaster.  What a hoot!!
Anyway, the files for this simple card are here:

A new cutter is on the way to me!

I'm so excited today!  I just saw the email that my BossKut Gazelle electronic die cutter has shipped!  That was super fast!  It's on sale at Scrap Savvy for a ridiculously low price, which I saw mentioned on the Make the Cut forum several days ago.  I mulled the purchase over for a couple of days before committing to buy, but I just couldn't pass it up at this price!  (I'm in no way affiliated with Scrap Savvy, except as a customer.)

Now I will be complete free from ProvoCraft and the Cricut Expression I currently use.  I'm very much looking forward to working with an upgraded machine, but a tiny little bit apprehensive too!

I'll keep you updated when she arrives!

Happy paper crafting y'all!

3D Flower Card with Free SVG and MTC Files!

Last night I designed a new 3D flower and made this sweet little card.  For the background layer I used a recently purchased Martha Stewart scoreboard to emboss lines onto plain white cardstock for a fun little twist instead of using an embossing folder as I usually would.  Purple metallic and gold sparkly papers (from Walmart) make the flower embellishment POP!

Girl's Night was AMAZING!

My darling daughter was my date last night for a Girl's Night Out.  Michael Buble was in town!  We had great seats and really enjoyed the show.  That man can sing!!!!  We're both just waiting till he makes it back to Jacksonville again.  Sigh.

Cute and so sweet!

This evening I was messing around in my Make the Cut software and designed a sticker for my sweet daughter.  Her name is surrounded by sea shells and ocean creatures.  MTC's designer, Andy, just rocks!  He put the ability to print your designs rather than cut them, if you so desire.  That's just what I did!  I printed on sticker paper and used the hinge method to cut the shadow of the design on my Cricut and voila!  A custom sticker for my sweetie's room!  She was generous with her thanks(in the form of hugs and kisses)!

A beginning!

This is my very first blog, so please be patient with me. I'm in the process of getting this thing going and soon will be blogging away like KRAZY!

I love to do crafts of all kinds from sewing (which I haven't done lately) to beading and paper crafting. I've been into card making for a bit, using Make The Cut software and my Cricut Expression to design even the embellishments! What fun! And useful too. :) This is a card I did for a swap using Make The Cut to design the 3D flower myself. How cool is that???

I'll be back soon to give more details about my crafting an life in general. See ya soon!
